 The Hoffman E-Commerce Lab provides a variety of technical services to different constituent groups. The primary focus of our services is to support instructional and research activities of faculty and staff within the Eller College of Management. The list below are only a few of the services the lab can provide. Hosting (for Research or Instructional-use)
- Web hosting (Apache and IIS)
- Database hosting (MySql, MS SQL Server 2000/2005, and Oracle)
- Social networking applications, such as blogs and wikis
- Enterprise application hosting, such as MS Dynamics
- Space and account setup for class or research project hosting
- Server hosting using Linux or Windows 2003
Instructional Support
- Technical classroom with 31 student workstations and a presentation system
- 15 workations in a general access area
- Support for client-server software installation
- Accommodations for custom software requests
Equipment Checkouts
- Laptops
- Digital Still Cameras
- Camcorders
- Polycom Conferencing phone (for use with a computer or a cell phone)
Other Facility or Service Highlights
- Video-conferencing enabled conference room (seats 8)
- Separate area for corporate projects and hand-on student labs
- Group meeting area with tables
- Lounge area for informal gatherings
- Various equipment available to all who have access to the facility, such as two high-end laser printers, one color and one black-white, a scanner, and webcams
- Technical consulting or presentation on technical topics about the lab
